modern homes

Each piece carries a story — of a village in Bankura, a dynasty in Bishnupur, a tradition older than memory. We bring these stories into your living space.

Craft that has
survived centuries
deserves to be seen

On the red laterite roads of Bankura, families have been shaping clay for generations — horses without riders, temples without names, gods without scripture. This is the art Krishti was born to carry forward.

We work directly with artisan communities in West Bengal — from the terracotta temples of Bishnupur to the Dokra villages of Bankura — sourcing intentionally, presenting beautifully, and pricing fairly.

How We Do It

From village kiln
to your living room

01
Source at Origin

We travel to Bankura, Bishnupur, and the artisan clusters of rural Bengal to hand-select pieces and build direct relationships with the makers.

02
Curate & Bundle

Each product is curated into thematic sets — by craft, mythology, or region — for a cohesive aesthetic story, not a random collection.

03
Present & Package

Pieces are polished, framed where needed, and wrapped in materials that honour their origin — packaging that is itself a keepsake.

04
Deliver the Story

Every order includes the artisan's name, village, and craft history. You don't just buy an object — you inherit its narrative.

The Makers

The hands
behind the craft

Behind every Krishti piece is a family — often one that has practiced the same craft for three, four, or five generations. We believe their names deserve to be as known as the objects they create.

4G
Bankura Terracotta
Ranjit Pal
Panchmura, Bankura

Fourth-generation potter specialising in the iconic Bankura horse. His family has supplied temples across Bengal for over a century. Each horse takes two days to hand-model.

3G
Dokra Metal Casting
Sukumar Karmakar
Bikna, Bankura

Master of the lost-wax casting technique, an unbroken 4,000-year-old tradition. Sukumar creates figurines that fuse tribal iconography with devotional forms unique to Bengal.

5G
Kantha Embroidery
Malati Devi
Murshidabad

Malati runs a collective of eighteen women artisans, all skilled in the Kantha running stitch tradition — repurposing old saris into intricate mythological narratives across cloth.
